Unveiling Invisible Emissions: Collective Advocacy for Sustainable Meat Supply Chains in East Asia

About

This report captures the key insights from the webinar “Unveiling Invisible Emissions: Collective Advocacy for Sustainable Meat Supply Chains in East Asia,” co-hosted by Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) and Mighty Earth.

Bringing together speakers from SFOC, Mighty Earth, and WWF China, the webinar examined the climate impacts of meat consumption, methane emissions, retailer accountability, and the role of deforestation- and conversion-free (DCF) supply chains in East Asia.

A panel discussion featuring experts from Trase and Imazon further explored the importance of supply chain traceability and verification, drawing on Brazil’s experience in advancing DCF beef production and strengthening environmental governance.

The brief highlights key findings and opportunities for collective action, emphasizing the need for enhanced emissions disclosure, stronger corporate due diligence, and regional collaboration to accelerate the transition toward sustainable and climate-resilient food systems.
